How to Know Jesus
It is the primary mission of Mt. Olive Baptist Church to introduce our family, friends, neighbors, and everyone we meet to the One who is above every name…Jesus Christ. The One who gave His very life so that each and every one of us can be redeemed and have a relationship with His Father in Heaven. To that end, if you’ve ever been uncertain where you stand with God—or where you’ll spend eternity—here’s a simple way to know you’ll be with Christ in Heaven when the time comes!
The ABC’s of Salvation
Admit
Admit you’re a sinner. We’ve all sinned. We’ve all fallen short of God’s expectations. And the cost of our sin is spiritual death without God for all eternity.
Believe
Believe that Jesus Christ lived the perfect life without sin. That He took the punishment intended for us and died for our sins. God raised Him from the dead in order to defeat Death once and for all!.
Confess
Confess that Jesus is Lord of your life! Submit to His will and ask him to forgive you and you will be saved! That’s a promise!
Are you ready?
If you’re ready to change and become a new creation in Christ, pray something like this. It doesn’t have to be exact word for word, but you really need to believe it:
“Father, I know I’m a sinner and destined for an eternity without you. I know that Jesus died for me. He took the punishment meant for me. I turn from my past life and my past sins and ask that you transform me into a new creation through your Son. Amen.”

Still undecided? That’s okay. We love you and want to be sure to answer any questions you might have about the whole thing. No one is going to try to convince you…that’s the job of the Holy Spirit, not us! But we will walk you through Scripture verses and discuss what it means to be a believer in Christ and what it means if you’re not. We’ll try to answer any question you have and if we don’t know the answer, we’ll do everything we can to find it for you. Point is, we want you to get to know Jesus and we’re more than happy to make those introductions whenever you’re ready.
